DPF Regeneration
Regeneration, also known as regen, is the process that burns the accumulated soot inside a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). An unmaintained DPF puts unnecessary strain on your vehicle’s engine and reduces its efficiency. A clogged DPF filter can also negatively impact your fuel mileage and make your truck feel sluggish. If you’re unable to initiate a regen, you may eventually find yourself in a derate mode, which can lead to engine shutdown.
